Drunken Master

I'm like a drunken master...in a sense.

I found out last night that when I'm drunk, I can ride my bike with no hands! I was also able to do muscle-ups, somethings I've been trying to perfect for awhile now! In case you don't know what a muscle-up is, here's a video:

I wonder if alcohol could help me swim...

1st DBR of the Year

Operation success! I had a fun night last night celebrating the presence of our pal Jon Schmidt of Schmidt Productions!

Mad shouts to Dani's parents; we had an excellent dinner there. We then went to Cody and Sam's house to meet up with Tom, Cody and MCMD and board our bikes for our journey. We headed to the Stagecoach theatre to meet up with Owen but he didn't bring his bike with him, so we rode back to my place where we re-upped on the liq. Tom passed out and was done for the night. He stayed the night on our couch. The rest of us rode downtown and stopped by Roddy's, China, and the Neurolux. We also ran into Violetta and her friend Becca down there. I forgot Becca's boyfriend's name though...

All the clubs sucked but it was fun to get reckless and just have a good time with everyone. Neurolux was surprisingly dead, and they charged $3 cover all night! LAME.

Throughout the night, we ran into many familiar faces we haven't seen in awhile and also made a few new ones. Good times. At the end of the night, we went to the taco wagon where Cody made a bunch of people believe he was a surgeon. His plans were foiled when an actual surgeon came and proved him wrong. Oh well! Owen began punching things, and we were all generally trashed by the end of the night.

I got to sleep at 4:00 AM and had to get up for work at 8:15 AM. Rough stuff. Plus my shift was from 8:15 AM-5:30 PM. Owned. All in all though, last night was good times, and it was great to be able to hang out with everyone again! Maybe one more time this summer...maybe...

Ninja Star USB

Here's something Cody would dig! This thing's about $100 and contains 2 gigs of memory.

Why Me?

I keep failing miserably when it comes to concerts.

A couple trips ago (to Seattle), I missed Janelle Monae and Santigold (though I should've made more of an effort to make it to them), plus Stereolab performed there a week after I left Seattle.

This last trip, I was really excited for the Kills concert, but tickets were sold out! This time around, Chester French was to perform in Seattle just a couple days after I left there!

Now, I find out about a stellar tour headlined by the reunion of No Doubt. That's fine, but I especially wanna go because Janelle Monae and the Sounds will be touring alongside them! Bedouin Sound Clash and Paramore will also be touring with them, but I'm especially psyched for Janelle Monae and the Sounds; oh wait, that tour's not coming to Boise. Gosh, we'd have so much fun Dani! I wish I could take you!

Walking on the Moon

smh; How are you gonna have a transporter on the Millennium Falcon? Hype Williams really needs to research his stuff. I still love this song though. The Dream and Mr. West!

Sleepless

Last night, I had another nightmare about spiders.

It was running all up my walls and as I got closer and closer to killing it, it grew in size until it finally combusted....weird stuff, and intensely scary. I hate these things.

Chasing Cool

smh @ all of you still sleeping on J. Nolan. This dude's the truth. The feeling I get when listening to J. Nolan is the feeling I got back in the day when old hip hop music came out. Not to say that his style is old or outdated or anything, but it just sounds like it came from an era where you felt like the artists were truly speaking from the heart. J. Nolan's newest offering is so soulful and fresh. I can only describe it as grown and late night music.

I know you won't believe me until I namedrop other artists to compare him to (even though he's in his own lane) but...imagine a Lupe Fiasco and Tanya Morgan mash-up. The whole project is really nice but I especially enjoy "We Get Up", "96", "On a Starship", and "Vibe With Me". The download link is below...do it. Trust me, this is a good listen!

Make sure to visit J. Nolan at myspace.com/jnolaniscool - he's a cool dude and usually will respond to you too!

Down with the Juke

Man...the shuffle function on the Samsung Juke is awful. I think I listened to the same song four times in a row. *sigh*...one more year...

Sno Cones!

Hooray! They're finally here which marks the unofficial beginning of summer! Actually, the sno shacks here in Boise opened up a week earlier this year. Normally they open Memorial Day weekend but we were lucky this time around! Well...you know where to find me in the summertime!

I highly suggest you all check out the sno shack on Franklin by Fred Meyer and the boxing gym. That place makes the best cones in town because you have the option of adding condensed milk and/or vanilla ice cream in it! My pick? Creamsickle. Everytime. Let's go!

Summer Bike Rides

...has begun! After weeks of anticipation, I finally got to take my bicycle out for a ride! Owen was down, so we went out around 10p and just rode downtown. We were heavily let down when we went to the top of the parking lot by Bodo and thought we would gain major speed by riding down...FAIL. I also got to ruin everyone's dinners and cocktails by riding by and childishly honking my horn. All in all, last night was a wonderful night for biking...the weather was perfect. I can't wait for more nights like these so if any of you want to ride bikes, let me know! If I'm not working, I'll probably be down!

Shouts to Francis on the bike. You can trust that no one will harm the bicycle!

9:50

That's the time for today's workout. I'm so glad I finally have a little more time on my hands so I can get back into a workout routine. Unfortunately it has been too long because I felt quite winded after this decent workout!

12x 55# bar squats
12x KTE
(5 rounds)

Owen's time was 6:48 and he did 65# bar squats! He'll always be my hero...man...I really need to get back into this!

Cool photography!

My Dani

When I was in Seattle, my beautiful girlfriend showed me a painting she had made for me and it is so amazing! I won't talk about it until I get it though. I'm going to take a picture of it and make a post of it when I get it.

She has this other painting she did though that is just as incredible. All I'll say about that one is that one of it's titles is "Cupcake Galaxy"...yeah, you already know it's wonderful! It's a painting that can mean many things, but I'll make another post about that one later.

In the meantime, check out these works she did in the past. One is of her favorite people, the Gnomes, and the other is a wonderful piece of one of her favorite animals, the bird. I wish I could provide larger images so the detail can show through, but sorry! You'll have to settle for these.

Dani is such a talented person, and I wish that you could see what I see. I'm so lucky because I get to see a lot of her work; incredible pieces that not everyone gets to experience. Be it photography, painting, video, whatever; Dani is incredible. I'm so thankful and lucky to be acquainted with her. Thank you Dani for blessing us with your artwork, and I hope that you continue to express your amazing talents! Contrary to what you think, your work is extraordinary!

Bird's Eye View

If you know me, you know I'm a big fan of Turbo. He's easily one of the greatest rappers of our time (no lie, he's up there with Elzhi for sure).

One of my favorite songs off of his latest offering "Electrorock V.4: Flash Focus Forms Force" is this awesome song: "Bird's Eye View". You need to watch this video for it, which was excellently shot and edited by the man himself. If you dig it, PLEASE do yourself a favor and go download his free project at turbotsst.blogspot.com TRUST ME, it's worth it! Of all the rappers you want to skip, this is one you absolutely DO NOT want to. Scramble up T. Double!

phontigallo: This is mad random, but has DMX ever won a grammy? I had always hoped he would, if for no other reason than to hear him say:

phontigallo: "I wanna thank God for helpin me write my song 'What These Bitches Want From A Nigga'

lmao

Best Pizza EVER

As some of you may know, I was recently in Seattle again. This time, I dined at a fine pizzeria called Pagliacci's. This place hands down has the best pizza I have ever tasted! It doesn't even matter what kind you get, it's like guaranteed greatness there! Make sure if you're ever in Seattle to go check this place out. I've provided a link below even, just in case you're serious about it. Trust me on this...Pagliacci's will not disappoint! I'll be back there again!

Star Trek ftw

I still can't get over how amazing the Star Trek movie was! I don't wanna ruin it or anything but if you still haven't seen it, you desperately need to, even if you aren't a "trekkie." Come on sequel(s)!

Back in Boise

Hey world! I'm back from Seattle and I feel amazing! Had a great trip, finals are done, summer's here, time for music...I can't wait!

Though I'm saddened that my lovely girlfriend Dani has gone off to Australia for three weeks and I won't get to see her until June, I am thoroughly excited for her as well! These opportunities don't come by often, so the fact that she gets to embark on such an amazing trip has me at a peak of excitement for her! Have fun Dani! I'm here for you and you can call me whenever you need, though I'm sure you'll be busy with other cooler stuff in Australia!

Apologies to those I know that live in Seattle that I didn't call. Time just consumed me and things went by way too fast so I didn't get to call and hang out with everyone I wanted to. Plus, I basically just wanted to spend time with Dani before we parted ways again but I will get a hold of you guys next time!

I have some cool pictures I might post up...might. Depends on how I feel :) Time to get down to business with this music! Stay tuned!

Off to Seattle!

I am so glad that the semester is over. It certainly was a rough one and I hope I pass my classes. I'm feeling okay about my finals, but I won't be able to rest in peace until I get my grades next Tuesday. Now that I can finally focus on music full-time again and enjoy my summer, I'm gonna start it off by going to see my wonderful girlfriend in Seattle! Here I come Dani!

To the rest of you:

Study Ball

I need this...especially now!

A 20-pound ball attached to a shackle and with Study Time Left (set up to four hours) for you or you kids have to keep studying, wow...what's that and if you need one?
"The Study Ball gadget($115) is a prison-style ball and chain that you can program to keep track of how much time you spend studying. Once you've selected the desired duration, you chain the ball to your ankle and the manacle won't come off until the schedule study time is up.
A red LED indicator displays the "Study Time Left" and keeps you informed as to how much longer you've got to keep studying. The ball and chain are made of highly durable steel and weighs a total of 9.5 kg / 20.95 pounds, which makes it difficult to move while wearing it. "

Fluid Faucet

It's like a 2-in-1 shampoo-plus-conditioner! Push up to drink fresh water or down to wash your hands and level it to turn it off! The knob on the side adjusts the temperature of the water. Design by Kohler.

Back Again (Full Version)

I posted the mock video for this Reflection Eternal song a couple weeks ago and here's the full version! The "Fingers" song by Chester French (below this post) and this song are two songs that I have on HEAVY rotation right now. I can hardly wait for the new Reflection Eternal album; I already know it's gonna be absolutely incredible! It's crazy to hear a song like this in such a new age of hip hop...it's so refreshing!

"No matter where you're from...I will always be in your corner."

The soul just speaks through this song...real hip hop never dies! This song really is "fluid just like water!" Tek could never do Kweli wrong, even if he tried! The beat, the sample, the flow...everything in this song is PERFECT!

Back Again - Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek

Fingers

This song is incredible. I can't stop listening to it! The whole Chester French "Love the Future" album is wonderful but this is definitely my favorite track from the album! You MUST listen to this song!
