Wow I can't stop talking about this song, it is absolutely incredible, and I'm so happy that there's an amazing video to go with it! Janelle Monae is so inspirational and talented. I love her. Dedicated Servers x The Reef
Yessurr MCMD and I will be returning to the stage this Thursday! Even though we're only doing four songs, we are getting really excited for this! It's been awhile since I've been on stage so I'm excited to see everyone that will be there and see their reactions to our new songs! Come check us out!

I can't promise I will be updating much in this coming month, but I will certainly do so if I find some cool stuff, let alone have the time. I have been overwhelmed with schoolwork, work, and trying to get the ball rolling on my music. I know it'll kill the few that visit this blog, but there might not even be a Cutest Puppy of the Week for a few weeks (sorry)!
I gotta focus...give me your well wishes and I wish to all of you out there the best of luck as well in accomplishing whatever goal you seek to overcome in these next months! Let's get it!
Just some things off the top of my head though:
-go get Madlib's "Beat Konducta in Africa". I already know it's gonna be good.
-Erykah Badu's new CD "New Emerykah Pt. II" comes out next Tuesday. That should be good too.
-Mochilla's Timeless DVD collection should be at my doorsteps within the next week. Can't wait!
-got to hang out with Dani. It was great to see her and I look forward to seeing her next month!
-I have a show coming up next Thursday at the Reef Boise. I guess I better make a separate post about that huh?
-I'm still sad Nujabes has passed.
-musically, the Dedicated Servers have a lot of stuff that should be coming out very soon.

R.I.P. Nujabes
...wow.
This is a HUGE loss for hip hop and music in general. This is really sad news for me, since Nujabes is one of my biggest influences. His music is amazing, timeless, and will forever be classic. He's the reason why I kept watching Samurai Champloo.
I always thought of him as the Japanese Pete Rock. Whenever I think of his music, I always think of the smooth and jazzy piano that he always threw into his beats. What's so upsetting about the passing of Nujabes is how horribly underrated his music is. People always ask where real hip hop is and sometimes I tell them it's in Japan! It's crazy because a lot of his songs are fairly old and are still better than the garbage that's circulating around the airwaves here.
Nujabes wasn't just a master of hip hop. He was a musical genius. Yeah he could make some good hip hop songs, but he made so much other amazing songs. I'm envious of the few that got to work with him.
He passed away near the end of February, but his family wanted to keep this information very private, which is why we here in the states are just now finding out. I'll probably be posting a lot of Nujabes music in the coming year (yep, because that's how much music he had). Luckily, there are a handful of unreleased songs he made that Hydeout Productions is planning on releasing sometime.

These are really cool! It's a personal mobility car concept by Yuji Fujimura. Though it kinda reminds me of the obese people in the movie Wall-E...hopefully that's not the direction we humans are headed but this would still be pretty cool to have!
