Album Releases (11.24.08)

Two definitive (for the artist) albums come out today and both are worth a listen.

"808's & Heartbreak" is Kanye West's fourth album and is considered his experimental project. Trailing off of his school theme (College Dropout, Late Registration, and Graduation), "808's & Heartbreak" finds Yeezy absolutely heartbroken and sullen. Rightfully so; the man's mother passed away and his fiance left him around the same time. Mr. West also picked up auto-tune, an old voice tool that remedied recording errors but was made popular partly by European musicians and T-Pain. The album isn't so sad; there are tracks like "Paranoid" and "Robocop" to lighten the mood a bit. Despite what EVERYBODY says about this album, it's definitely worth a listen. I have a post coming later on my thoughts about this whole "Kanye lost his mind" business but I'll speak on it then. For now, support change and support good music. "808's & Heartbreak" is in stores now!

Don't forget to pick up Ludacris' "Theater of the Mind" as well! Ludacris has been releasing some good albums and some decent ones but he is sure to stun all the doubters and haters with this one. The essence of this album (from a Ludacris' interview) was to show all the people who didn't think he could rap that he could...and he certainly can. "Do the Right Thang", a track featuring Common and produced by 9th Wonder leaked months ago and caught the attention of non-believers. In the track alone, he proved he didn't need hoes, cars and money to make a good song. Many believe this is Ludacris' "Blueprint" album and it may be just that. "Theater of the Mind" includes appearances from T-Pain, Jay-Z, Nas, and many more guests! Even though this album will probably be slept on, DO NOT sleep on this particular album!
