Good to see Black Milk getting himself seen! He really channels Dilla on this one, and though that's often said, this is the ONLY song on his new CD "Album of the Year" that sounds like Dilla. He really established his own sound on the rest of the tracks, which is awesome!
MCMD and I opened for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony last night. That was pretty fun, but I think I'll post about that separately once I have pictures and stuff. For now, I just wanna let everybody know about something going on tomorrow evening!
Our friend Ronn Seidenglanz has an event called Think Sidewayz going on to exhibit his work in photography. He will be giving a small speech as well as showing his pieces at the brand new Apple Store in the mall from 7p-8p, and the party continues at the Empire Bldg. downtown from 9p-12a. We were lucky enough to be chosen to perform a couple songs for the evening, so we'll be at both events but performing at the Empire Bldg.! Also performing is our good friend Eleven!
The after party is 21+ and there will indeed be drinks and stuff like that. I imagine for anybody in the creative field, this might be a good chance to network with some people so come on out if you have a moment! Should be a fun time! Hope to see some of you there.
Here's a trailer Ronn created to promote the show!
If you still haven't, you need to watch this video for Black Milk's "Deadly Medley" from his brand new album "Album of the Year"! The CD is incredible and you need to go out and purchase it. People have been comparing Black Milk to Dilla for a long time, but I feel like Black Milk really broke through on this album and shows that he's got his own sound. I will say though, the song "Welcome (Gotta Go)" = straight up Dilla. Good stuff though.
With verses from Royce and El, you better believe this is a deadly medley. Great beat, great rhymes...that's all you need! This is epic!
And real quick, I've had the song "365" from the album on REPEAT. It's like some celebration, grown up, dress your best type music. I wish it were my song so I could perform it!
I highly doubt anyone really comes here anymore, especially since I've fallen off on updates, but I'm gonna try my hardest (and I know I've said that before) but this time for real.
I have new capabilities that will allow me to update easier. I have also been fortunate enough to be blessed with many musical opportunities around town.
One thing's for certain; I'll definitely continue doing Cutest Puppy of the Week.
Hopefully more readers will come through and enjoy the site...let's do it!
