Suite for Ma Dukes
Dilla week continues! I just bought an EP called "Suite for Ma Dukes" which has four orchestral interpretations of classic J Dilla produced songs ("Antiquity", "Nag Champa", "Find A Way" & "Fall in Love"). The pieces are absolutely amazing. They're composed by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and Carlos Nino, accompanied by a 36-piece orchestra. It was only $3.96 on iTunes (I wish it were available through an album or something else though!). The vinyl comes out in April and there will also be a performance of the pieces in L.A. in the same month with opening sets from J. Rocc & House Shoes. This is beautiful music and I urge you all, whether Dilla fans or not, to check this out.
