Phonte's Twitter Commentary on Michael Jackson

lol

Reverend Tigallo is hilarious, yet he SPEAKS THE TRUTH! Here are his Tweets shortly after Michael Jackson passed away:

To me, the real tragedy in Mike's death is the last people he worked with were Rodney Jerkins, Kanye, will.i.am, and Akon.

And no disrespect to will.i.am cause that's my dude and he's a talented cat, but some shit just don't need a remix.

There was a period in R&B around '02 when I think producers were doin songs for MJ beggin him to work with them on the low. (i.e. Justified)

"Sometimes I wonder if we enjoyed Michael Jackson's life more than he did." (c) @AndreasHale (and with that, the eyes are damp again)

Another thing that makes me sad about MJ's death is that people will focus on the weird shit, but his pro-Blackness will go unmentioned.

Make no mistake about it, ever-changing skin color be damned, Michael Joseph Jackson was one of THEE Blackest motherfuckers in music.

I mean, seriously...Mike is the same cat who 1) Called Tommy Mottola a devil.....2) Sang about a beautiful African woman in "Liberian Girl"

3) Sang "white man's gotta make a change" live on the Grammies in '88....4) Sang an African chant at the end of "Wanna Be Startin..."

And let's not even mention "They Don't Really Care About Us." Who you think the "they" and "us" were?

Even though MJ was the biggest star in the universe, deep down he knew that underneath it all he was still just a nigga from Gary.

in black or white he said "I ain't scared of no sheets"<<
He threatened 2 pull all his vids from MTV in the 80s until they aired more black artists as well. He was the musical 'Ali'

And also, the "Remember the Time" video took place in Egypt and portrayed Black people as kings and queens. MJ was nobody's sellout.

It's easy for folks to write MJ off as the weird guy with a glittery glove who could dance real good, but he really was the complete artist.

Take for instance, the Thriller album. It's easy to just write it off as a simple pop album, but take a deeper look at the subject matter.

Who else could sing about gang violence (Beat It), illegitimate kids (Billie Jean) and have African chants on their album AND MAKE IT WORK?
